Northstar
documentation has moved to a faster server.

documentation on the new page are also included on the
Super-I/O CD-ROM. If you are aware of other Northstar
documentation on the web that is not included above, please let
me know. If you have other Northstar documentation
or source code in any format, please let me know.
I grew up in New York, and learned to program
on the Northstar Horizon.
Now it is back in California, only a few miles from where it was
built in San Leandro. This machine has a Northstar ZPB
(Z80 Processor Board) running at 6MHz (I overclocked it.)
The processor board will run at 8MHz, but some of the
components on the motherboard will not (most notably the 8251
UARTs.) This machine also sports one of the new
Super-I/O
Controllers. The
Super-I/O
Controller was a follow on project from the original S1002ISA
ADAPTER BOARD that I designed to facilitate the use of
"modern" ISA cards in an old S-100 system.
This machine is running Digital Research CP/M
3.0 (also known as CP/M Plus.) This machine has
been modified to utilize a solid-state relay to control the
power, so it turns on when someone connects to it, and turns
off when they disconnect. Please be patient while the machine
boots up.
